Jews Will Not Abandon the Democrats, Even as the Democrats Abandon Them, by Abraham H. Miller

According to Abraham H. Miller:

Given a choice between preserving their Jewish identity or embracing the ideology of the left, many Jews would prefer to be Democrats than Jews.
President Franklin Roosevelt’s abandonment of Europe’s Jews is rationalized as a three-term, popular president’s inability to control his own Department of State. Roosevelt was a racist and an anti-Semite. He incarcerated loyal Japanese who subsequently proved their patriotism and courage on Europe’s battlefields. His incarceration order was a function of his own phobia of Asians and was protested even by FBI Director J. Edgar Hoover. Roosevelt abandoned the Jews for similar reasons.
Jews have bought into the Democrats’ obsession with President Donald Trump as a racist and anti-Semite. Trump, whose daughter is an observant Jew and who has Jewish grandchildren, is labeled an anti-Semite. In contrast, hatemonger Al Sharpton is honored in a New York synagogue during the recent high holidays, and Congressman Hank Johnson’s allusion to Jews as termites, invoking a medieval and Nazi stigma resurrected by the Rev. Louis Farrakhan, barely causes concern.

It's true. Many progressive Jews still pine for Obama even though:

Ben Rhodes, President Obama's national security adviser, said on Monday that Obama sought to use the United Nations as a vehicle to isolate and pressure the Jewish state.
Rhodes, speaking at the anti-Israel group J Street's annual conference in Washington, D.C., discussed efforts by the former administration to weaponize the U.N. to force Israel into concessions to the Palestinians.

The Democrats are smart though. Unless they are Ilhan Omar, rather than speak out against Jews, they use Israel as a proxy. It works because so many progressive Jews have separated themselves from the world's only safe haven for Jews.

And even the attacks against Israel are passive/aggressive. The current Democratic presidential candidates like to pretend that they support Israel, but they just have to reign in Israel's darker tendencies in the interests of peace. They like to pretend there is a moral equivalence between PA and Hamas terrorists and Israel's self-defense against these terrorists. In that vein, they're constantly trying to resurrect the "Two-State Solution" fantasy, which is supposed to bring peace and dignity to both Israel and the Palestinians.

Here is Elizabeth Warren speaking to J Street National Conference. J Street, the Jewish group that has consistently come supported Hamas' and the PA in every controversy, is the "go to" Jewish group for Democrats. Watch.

Frightening isn't it.

Other conference speakers included Osama Qawasma, advisor to Mahmoud Abbas and chief Palestinian negotiator, Saeb Erakat. Pro Israel? Pro peace? Seriously?

Then there is Bernie Sanders, another 2020 presidential hopeful. While Warren might be speaking to J. Street because that's the way she sees the wind blowing, I think Sanders really hates Israel for being Jewish and for being successful after abandoning its earlier socialist methods. Having political allies like Linda Sarsour and Amer Zahr, I don't think Sanders is very comfortable being Jewish

Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.), who is running for the 2020 Democratic presidential nomination, stated on Monday at the annual J Street Conference in Washington, D.C., that a portion of the U.S. military assistance to Israel should go towards humanitarian relief in the Gaza Strip.
“I would use the leverage of $3.8 billion,” Sanders said, referring to the 10-year Memorandum of Understanding between the United States and Israel negotiated by former President Barack Obama. “It is a lot of money, and we cannot give it carte blanche to the Israeli government, or for that matter, to any government at all. We have a right to demand respect for human rights and democracy.”
The senator, who received a thunderous crowd ovation from start to finish, remarked that some of the $3.8 billion the United States annually gives to Israel in assistance should “go right now to humanitarian aid in Gaza.”

Sanders wants to be "even-handed" even as he blames all of the Palestinians' self-inflicted misery on the Jews . . . um . . . I mean on Israel. And giving money to Hamas? Of course I'm sure they will use it responsibly with much of it going to their underground infrastructure projects and their unmanned projectile research.

The question is: Do the Democrats not get it, or do they not care?

With the majority of the Jewish vote guaranteed, my guess is they don't care. As long as they can pretend to support Jews and Israel by aligning themselves with J Street, they will always have the "but some of my best friends are Jewish" argument to fall back on. And the 70% of Jews who reliably vote Democrat will nod in agreement.

The Jew haters on the Left of course, can see right through all of Sanders', and Warren's, and J Street's lies, so they too remain in the Democrats' pocket. They just have to keep on pretending in order to keep those Jewish votes coming.
