Andy Levin is Once Again Excusing Antisemitism
Ilhan Omar, showing her love for the country that took her in as a refugee, said:
“We have seen unthinkable atrocities committed by the US, Hamas, Israel, Afghanistan, and the Taliban. I asked @SecBlinken where people are supposed to go for justice.”
The Israel-hatred of course, is just part of who she is.
Some Congressional representatives expressed their outrage.
But not Andy Levin:
Rep. Andy Levin (D-MI), also defended Omar, arguing that she was merely standing up for “human rights.”
“Do you believe in accountability for human rights, for war crimes? How can you believe in it for everybody except yourself or your friends?” he said. “That is what Representative Omar was actually saying. And since I’ve taken that position myself for many years, why does everybody jump on her when she says it?”
To Levin, Israel and Hamas are morally equivalent. And yet he sells himself as a proud Zionist.
If Levin has ever expressed support for Israel without qualifications, we've missed it. If he's ever given Israel the same support he's given Ilhan Omar and Rashida Tlaib, it's gone right by us. His support seems to be the same support expressed by the Congressional Hamas Caucus, David Duke, and other "supporters." If we're wrong about this, please let us know in the comments.
