Duke and the University of North Carolina sponsor antisemitic conference!
Yes, we know. We are supposed to blame President Trump for the increase in anti-Semitism. It is the politically correct thing to do. The problem is that we left our political correctness in our other pants. Watch this video by investigative reporter, Ami Horowitz to see one of the real reasons for the increase in Judeophobia. You will see that, in spite of weasel words from university administrators, there are campus organizations working under the guise of "anti-Zionism," to make things uncomfortable for Jews here in one of the very few countries in which we've had it really, really good.
And don't expect very much of the mainstream media to report this. Just as they're ignoring the spate of attacks against orthodox Jews in Brooklyn, campus anti-Semitism is mostly off limits to being reported on.
And speaking of the weasel words mentioned above,
On Friday, interim Chancellor Kevin Guskiewicz released a statement on Twitter condemning the “disturbing and hurtful language” during the performance. At an Arts Everywhere event on Friday, Guskiewicz told The Daily Tar Heel this performance does not reflect UNC’s values.
"After watching the video from the performance at the conference, I was very disturbed, disheartened by what I saw,” he said. “There's no place for that on our campus, and I'm steadfast against anti-Semitism and extremism, hate of any form.”
And yet, the administration allowed the "Conflict Over Gaza" conference to proceed without vetting the speakers or the content.
As always, Jews cannot depend on the authorities, especially university authorities to stop the spread of anti-Semitism. It is up to us to speak up loudly and forcefully. We cannot tolerate this kind of bigotry. There can be no excuses.
