Do Democrats Have a Problem with Jews?
We don't know. We're just asking. They could just be playing to their slowly evolving base, a base that is leaning further and further toward the non-acceptance of Jews as valued members of a civilized society. Looking around, we can't help but notice that societies that don't accept Jews as equal citizens are always a little less civilized. We don't want American society to be degraded by anti-Semitism.
We're just asking because, as Daniel Greenfield writes:
Senator Elizabeth Warren has identified her base. Bigots. And she's pandering to them.
"In a democracy, we can and should have an open, respectful debate about the Middle East that focuses on policy. Branding criticism of Israel as automatically anti-Semitic has a chilling effect on our public discourse and makes it harder to achieve a peaceful solution between Israelis and Palestinians," Warren claimed. "Threats of violence -- like those made against Rep. Omar -- are never acceptable."
Mondoweiss or the 2020 Dem field, is there even a difference anymore?
But wait, there's more! Here is a report about the previous administration from David Rosenberg:
The Obama White House may have exerted more influence over a controversial anti-Israel United Nations resolution than previously believed, according to a new report by The New York Times.
In December 2016, following the 2016 presidential election, the Obama administration ordered the US mission to the UN to abstain from a Security Council vote on resolution 2334, which condemned Jewish communities in Judea, Samaria, and eastern Jerusalem as ‘flagrant violations’ of international law with “no legal validity”.
The surprise decision not to veto the measure – abandoning the traditional US policy of barring blatantly anti-Israel measures at the Security Council – was initially seen as a parting blow to the Netanyahu government in Israel, but not part of an orchestrated effort by the Obama administration to target Israel.
As a further warning:
A Brooklyn lawmaker will be booted from a City Council committee that oversees immigrant issues after recently coming under fire for claiming “Palestine does not exist.”
Council Speaker Corey Johnson confirmed in a statement Monday that Councilman Kalman Yeger would be removed from the Immigration Committee.
Which wouldn't be so bad, except:
Yeger, who represents Midwood and other neighborhoods with large Jewish populations, made the remarks last week as part of series of tweets accusing Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.) of being an anti-Semite.
In other words, Yeger is being taken down for standing up for Jews, Israel, and the United States. Omar, as you recall, faces strongly in the opposite direction, frequently demonstrating her anti-Jewish, anti-Israel, and anti-American bias. And she's faced no consequences for her blatant anti-Semitism. Democrats were eager to accept her almost-apology and get on with the business of pandering to Israel/Jew haters.
Obama, Omar, Warren and the other Democratic presidential candidates, Tlaib; the number of Democrats working to marginalize Jews is growing.
So, not that we are accusing the Democratic party of anything, but we do have some questions and concerns.
