A Texas Imam and Interfaith Dialogue
This time it’s a Texas imam calling for Muslims to kill Jews in order to hasten Judgment Day. He joins imams from California and New Jersey who have recently been exposed quoting the same end-of-days hadith in their sermons while calling for the annihilation of the Jewish people.
Here in Michigan we recently received our first visit from the Muslim Jewish Advisory Council. According to a November 2017 AJC press release:
The Muslim Jewish Advisory Council brings together 44 civil society, religious, and business leaders from across the United States to advocate for domestic policy issues of common concern to the American Jewish and American Muslim communities. Reversing the recent rise in hate crimes, and promoting the place of religious minorities in American society are its top priorities. The American Jewish Committee (AJC) and the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA) are its co-conveners.
While these are noble goals, have any questions been raised about what kinds of sermons are being given in local mosques? Would it be impolite to wonder who else is calling for the death of Jews? Are any of the Jewish members explaining to their Muslim counterparts exactly what constitutes anti-Semitism?
We know that anti-Semitism is increasing and that according to FBI statistics most religion-based hate crimes are being committed against Jews. Are imams calling Jews “apes and pigs” and calling for our destruction contributing to anti-Semitism?
We’re just wondering.
